Dog Show

WHAT A DAY THE PAPHIAKOS HOT DOG SHOW HAS BEEN!

Our 19th Hot Dog Show on Sunday 8th May 2016 has been amazing! So many people came to the Paphos Harbour yesterday! And the dogs were simply… the most beautiful there are! So many different types, breeds, ages, colours, markings and characters! Thank you to all who came through the doors, humans and dogs alike!

Our judges Leigh and Pauline Bishop have been very professional and we couldn’t thank them enough for their help and hard work!

So many people have helped with the organisation of this event, staff and volunteers, and a big THANK YOU goes to them all: drivers, nurses, vet, receptionists, shelter and office staff, volunteers working in the shops and the shelter, those helping with events and fundraising, volunteers and former staff, some of whom came on holiday from abroad to help at the Hot Dog Show! The stewards, the registrars, the people selling entrance tickets, those on teas/coffees, cold drinks & cakes, on the gates, re-homing, pet travel, face painting, poop scooping, etc., thank you all! Your dedication, time and efforts haven’t gone unnoticed and we are grateful to you all!

Special thank you to all of the following, without whom the Hot Dog Show would not have been the same: O Gyros tou Cosmou and the wonderful Iraklis Christoforou who provided the best souvlakia possible, the amazing Matthew Edmondson from TOTT Events for being the greatest compere of the show, Stella Nicodemou for designing our poster, Lydia Kyriakidou for advertising us on the Cyprus News Agency and Radio Paphos, Bejay Browne for her great editorial in the Cyprus Mail dated 27th April 2016, the Russian Media Group, The Paphos Post, Grapevine, Cyprus Living Magazine, Cyprus Living Forum, PALS Magazine, Moi Ostrov Magazine, the amazing ROCK FM Radio, our main media sponsor! More thank you’s to Pro Pet for sponsoring the winners of the Dog Show with HILLS food & products, the lovely Sharon Trueman for donating the pet photo session vouchers to the winners, Fokia for the donation of amazing shampoos for pets, and Makarounas Petland, Kolios, Vouni Panayia and Kalamos wineries for their generous donations. A huge thank you is going to Investor Morse for being such a generous sponsor for our event. Another big thank you to all those who advertised their business with banners on the day, the whole area of the show looked amazing! Also, a huge thank you for all the help provided by the UKCA Paphos Camera Club by sending 4 photographers to our Hot Dog Show, to Peter Morton Removals, to Hercules Group for producing the most amazing rosettes that made the winners even more beautiful and the handlers even prouder and to Fytos Printing Centre for sponsoring us and for the on-going collaboration.

Finally but most importantly, the biggest THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts goes to Shadeports Plus, our huge sponsor who helped us keep the promise we made to you last year, that the dogs will be in the shade! Without Shadeports, Pafos Aphrodite Rotary Club and Paradym Media, the show would not have been what we imagined it to be, more professional, more compact and solely oriented on dogs! We are deeply grateful to you and humbled by all the help and the support you have given us, and for believing in the work that we do at Paphiakos Animal Welfare!

We are already looking forward to next year’s Hot Dog Show, the biggest ever, the 20th! THANK YOU ALL!
